So I want to welcome you to the VERY FIRST podcast on my Substack channel. I am so glad you’re here to join me on this journey. But first, a couple of things…
(1) I work very differently when I am doing an audio versus a written post. For example, when I am writing, I will often edit as I go. I fix spelling and grammatical errors, change wording, and change direction of what I was planning on saying. This is, by the time I post it, often filtered as my brain is constantly questioning my choice of what I am saying and changing it on the fly. This is VERY different from how I speak with people. So my audio podcasts will be extremely unfiltered. In fact the only filtering that is done is to remove background noise;
(2) I really want to know what you think about this format. It is much easier for me to produce it, and I will be able to post a lot more. So please tell me what you think about the content, editing, time, etc. I really want to be able to post more on Substack, but often lose thoughts and ideas in my brain before I can get to a computer and write. I also want to give you the chance to tell me how often you would like me to do audio versus writing. To start, I will plan on doing one audio per week, but depending on how it is received, I will probably change that frequency.
Finally, I want to tell you how much I appreciate all of my followers and subscribers. I do this to get information out in a world where the majority of (loud) voices are right leaning (some leaning so far that they’re horizontal). So thank you for sticking by me as I do that. We all need to have communities we feel safe in, and I am glad that you have found mine!
